Some catching up to do!!!

As I am trying to get caught up on projects, I thought I would take a few moments and bring yall up to date. With the leaves on the trees turning and falling, it is pretty well obvious that our summer is gone. With the change comes one of my favorite seasons... Football!
Tony is the star quarterback for O'Gorman High School. I don't just say that, it is true. I have followed his season and he has continued to rack up good numbers. Even after having knee surgery two weeks ago.
We were excited to do his senior photos! On the day of his shoot, when he came out of the dressing room, I mentioned I heard he was a part of the O'G football team. He just nodded his head. Should have seen his face when I asked if he was the waterboy? Priceless!
Thanks again Tony, you rocked!

Goofballs with a camera.........

Phones are ringing, we are booking more clients then ever b4, schedule is booked weeks into the calendar. Sounds like a great time to hit the road eh?
This weekend Custer State Park in western South Dakota has their annual Buffalo Roundup. Each year the roundup all the Buffalo in the park, brand them and move em out for the season.
My good friend Ron Jacobson and I have talked for months about setting out on a photo trip. This falls destination will be the Buffalo Roundup!
I have to say I am a bit excited about the trip. Ron is a great friend and a mentor. This will also be the first trip I have ever taken where the focus is on fine art photography. Oh sure I have photographed for clients throughout North America and bored the family to death while I yank the camper to the side of the road just for a quick shot that I saw in my head.
This is different. For 48 hours we will breath, eat and poof photography.
Ron and I are looking at collaborating on a couple of projects in the future and this trip signifies the start of that relationship. Being a bit off level we tried to come up with a term or name for our adventures. Still have not found it. Although looking at these photographs of us taken at the LifeLight Music Festival, Two Goofballs with a camera kinda fits......

Hello from LifeLight!!!!!!

It's that time of year! I absolutely LOVE this Festival weekend. This being my seventh year photographing the event. The weather is perfect and the lineup of bands is awesome. Today I ran into Matt from the band Superchick. I have photographed the band a few times before and was really looking forward to shooting their show again. I asked Matt if he would play up with the camera for me. As always he did not let me down!
If you are here, make sure to say hi!

The ? of the month.... "Where have you been?"

Soooo it has come to my attention that some of you noticed my lack of blog posts! The truth is our studio has seen it's busiest month ever, really! We have photographed more sessions, weddings and booked so many new projects, blogging really had to go on the back burner and will be there for a while. As our studio business sky rockets to the next level, I will really be focusing on the business and it's mission. So if you don't see new posts every few days, don't fret! We are here and I am photographing/designing like a mad man!

In the mean time here are a couple of quick pics from Tyler and Shelby's wedding today. It was really a cool wedding. The Maid of Honor, Nicole was one of our brides from last year! Then I saw Dan & Mary, one of our couples from two years ago! So cool to photograph a wedding and seeing other clients of ours in the church!

Hello World!

Meet the latest addition to our family, Loren! Loren was born two weeks ago to our Son Cameron and his wife Zacyn. We are so proud of Cam and Z. They have two beautiful little girls that make Grandpa & Grandma smile!

Rich's Solo

My friend Chris called while we were in the Seattle airport. The Sioux Falls Municipal Band was going to perform a concert at the Relay For Life event ins Sioux Falls. What made it special was his brother Rich was flying in to play a solo for the concert.
Normally that would not be a huge thing, but Rich is fighting a rough battle with cancer. While battling the disease himself, Rich is also a pharmacist working to find a cure. Chris asked if I could come out and photograph his brother and the performance.
Honestly Chris's call could not have come at a better time. Chris and Rich both helped to remind me why we do what we do. I absolutely love what I do. However some days I probably take it for granted. It's situations like this that help me to focus on what is important. that is making a difference in peoples lives and producing images that will be remembered.
Thanks Chris, I am humbled......

Chris's Session.....

I really had fun with Chris in the studio. It's not everyday that a guy walks in with a tux! Had to try a couple new looks! Thanks Chris, you rocked!

Richie's Senior Session!!!

Few weeks ago Richie stopped in to talk about his upcoming session. Last year we photographed a couple of tennis competitors with some pretty cool shots. Richie made it very clear that he wanted something that something to top theirs! I do believe we pulled it off!
All I know is I don't want to stand in front of the ball when he hits it!
